SEA BUCKTHORN SEED OIL SPECIFICATION

Sea buckthorn seed oil is obtained using an innovative production technology with supercritical fluid extraction. Extraction of supercritical fluid using carbon dioxide gas is an innovative method of extracting active substances. The product is obtained without chemical modification. The extraction method is gentle – all the good properties are retained in the final product, therefore, they have higher efficiencies than substances obtained by conventional extraction methods. Advantages of supercritical liquid extraction technology:

• Efficient and selective extraction of physiologically active substances; • Natural substances are not transformed, their natural chemical form is preserved; • Gentle extraction method, preserving all the good properties of natural substances; • No contact with oxygen – no oxidation; • CO2 recovery and recycling – environmentally friendly technology; • Efficacy of the obtained substances in small doses (concentrated extract); • The obtained extracts are stable; • The obtained products do not contain solvent residues; • The obtained products contain pure fractions of natural substances, they do not contain – proteins, inorganic salts, heavy metals and food allergens.

Sea buckthorn oil contains 90% unsaturated fatty acids, of which 75% is polyunsaturated fatty acids (linoleic acid and alpha-linolenic acid) and 15% monounsaturated fatty acids (oleic acid). 10% saturated fatty acids (palmitic acid and stearic acid). In addition, sea buckthorn seed oil contains vitamin E (alpha-tocopherol) 85 mg / 100g as well as phytosterols 1000mg / 100g of which beta-sitosterol is 750 mg / 100g.

Steric acid 3 g

Alpha-tocopherol (vitamin E) 85 mg

Beta-Sitosterol 750 mg

Alpha-linolenic acid is an unsubstituted polyunsaturated (omega-3) fatty acid of vegetable origin that should be taken in with food. It is usually used to reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases such as the development of atherosclerosis and high blood pressure. Epidemiological studies have hypothesized that alpha-linolenic acid reduces risks of cardiovascular and neurological diseases, lowers cholesterol and prevents blood clots. In addition, omega-3 fatty acids reduce the risk of inflammation.

Linoleic acid is an essential polyunsaturated (omega-6) fatty acid. Both omega-3 and omega6 fatty acids are structural components of human cells that need to be taken in on a daily basis. Omega-6 fatty acids help to improve the functioning of the central nervous system.

Polyunsaturated fatty acids improve the functioning of the immune system, they have immunomodulatory properties (prevents the formation of inflammation). Oleic acid is a monounsaturated (omega-9) fatty acid. Oleic acid helps reduce the risks of heart and vascular diseases and lowers cholesterol. Studies have described that oleic acid has properties that help protect the body from oncological diseases.

Alpha-tocopherol is a form of vitamin E, it reduces cellular oxidative stress, works as an antioxidant, reduces the risk of blood clots and the synthesis of inflammatory mediators. Beneficial effect on reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease promotes nitric oxide synthesis thus improving endothelial function (inner layer of the vascular wall). Phytosterols have a very similar molecular structure to cholesterol when ingested phytosterols compete with cholesterol, so eating a diet rich in phytosterols reduces cholesterol. One of the most effective phytosterols is beta-sitosterol.

The recommended daily dose of sea buckthorn seed oil is 1-2 grams, it can be used both in pure form or by adding it to other foods or meals. Do not heat. Laboratory tested – free of aflatoxins and pesticides.
